This week it’s Mark’s choice for a movie and he chose one that is possibly the most Australian film since Croc Dundee. Starring Henry Thomas WHOM YOU LOVED IN E.T… as a young eccentric inventor who is going on a quest to solve the murder of a hobo friend of his… or something like that.
We watched this movie hoping to find a lost classic. I was hoping for the experience I had watching “The Monster Squad” when I was 24 years old, finding a film that would have perfectly fit in my childhood. This was sort of that experience… I could definatley see a time when I would have watched this movie over and over as a child without noticing all the things that are wrong with the plot or special effects. Kind of like how I loved “Baby: secret of the lost Legend” for a while.
But as an adult the flaws are too much! We both had a fun time watching it and talking about it, but (spoiler) it will not go down in the all time classics.
