This week we discuss an 80’s comedy cashgrab that is so mixed up and confused about which kind of movie it wants to be that it never really gets started and then it’s over. Mercifully, thankfully, over.
A night to remember the classics.
This week we discuss an 80’s comedy cashgrab that is so mixed up and confused about which kind of movie it wants to be that it never really gets started and then it’s over. Mercifully, thankfully, over.
This week it’s Mark’s choice for a movie and he chose one that is possibly the most Australian film since Croc Dundee. Starring Henry Thomas WHOM YOU LOVED IN E.T… as a young eccentric inventor who is going on a quest to solve the murder of a hobo friend of his… or something like that.
This week we get back on track and have a special guest help tackle a movie that some of us remember, but have any of us really seen? The Police Academy movies are memorable to anyone who grew up in the 1980’s. For a little stretch they were some of the most popular and profitable movies on the planet, launching the careers of Bobcat Goldthwait, Kim Catrall and Steve Guttenberg. But this is the 5th movie in the series so none of those stars are here. What we are left with is a cash grab stuffed with cliches. Lets take our well known formula and set it in a new local and see if we can squeeze some more dollars out of these theater going rubes. Enoy the Show!
We tackle a movie that’s a blind spot for one of us and a classic for another. What do we thing about it? Listen and find out. Ghoulies is a movie that I was definatley aware of, but had never seen. I think I didn’t watch it when I was in my prime horror movie watching years and then it just never felt like the right movie to watch. But I was excited to tackle it when Q suggested it for a movie night watch.
This episode we review the 1988 movie Picasso Trigger by #1 Breast Man : Andy Sidaris. Part of his Bullets Bombs and Babes series of films. Did we have a good time not a long time with these lovely ladies? Find out on this episode. Movies like this aren’t made anymore, mostly because society has moved on and we’ve all become better people. But also because there’s naked people all over the internet. The youths might not remember but in the before times you could only see a plethora of naked women was in a C level movie like this or by finding a stash of porn in a garbage bag in the woods. There is so much plot in this movie that there was no chance we didn’t get lost along the way, but we had a great time doing it.
We review the movie slugs in our first ever podcast
Movie Hunters, A movie that seemed like a generic romp of monster stuff and action. But later we realized that it’s based on a video game series that none of us had never heard of. But hey! We’re getting old! Still, enjoyed it
Kevin Bacon’s Dong, Hello there old friend. It’s been a long time and I shouldn’t have left you… without a dope beat to step to. But also you are a maniac rapist. So does it really matter if we can see you?
Movie Zombie Musical Fans, We did it again. We let Charlie pick a movie! Technically he picked this movie sometime in 2017 when he saw the trailer and assumed that it had been released already. But time has passed and we can actually watch it now. So the poster for this movie desctibes it as “Shawn of the Dead meets LA LA Land” which might be technically correct. But the feeling is more like “Low Rent Shawn of the Dead ajacent to High School Musical” if you can see what I’m saying here… Lets move on!
Movie Parishioners, Last week we watched Velocipastor… A movie so realistic you will not believe that you aren’t living it live. in the tradition of movie night classics like Turbo Kid,The Gingerdead man, and Manborg, it’s “bad on purpose” unlike those movies it seems like any of us could probably make this in their backyard with a couple halloween costumes and some puppets. But did we do that? No we didn’t god dammit.
