#69 – Legend

Small turnout for this movie which included Bill Erskine, Goins, Q, and myself. Goins and Q made it about half way through but to their credit the movie was rather long and we started about 20 minutes late. I loved this movie. It’s a bit hard to understand the combination of their cockney accents and the 1960’s slang but it’s better than reading subtitles any day of the week. I’m looking at you Erskine. 🙂

#68 – ROAR

Movie Lions,  Sorry I didn’t send this earlier, I wrote most of this last week. I probably won’t be able to make it tonight. So there was a pretty small group for this week. We couldn’t find a copy of Q’s first choice movie “Crocodile Fury” that wasn’t fully in French. That may be the only way it exists. So we went with a movie that has been bouncing around the list for a while, ROAR! from 1981. The film was never actually released in the US until Drafthouse films released it in 2015. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

#66 – Willow

Movie Dikinis,  Last week in a fit of madness we watched a great movie. A movie from 1988 that holds up in every way, even special effects if you squint your eyes a little. Mother flippin WILLOW, hit the music!

#65 – Sex & Fury

Movie Samurais,  Last week we watched one of those movies again. The ones you have to read (damn you Erskine, making us cultured and sophisticated) Luckily for him it also had a healthy dose of Blood and Nudity.  It’s only a day later and I already feel the plot slipping away from me, so here we go. and obviously read everything i write with some kind of slow motion Quinten Tarentino vibe.

#63 – Cat’s Eye

Its review time again gents.  Hopefully I’m not stealing anyone’s thunder this week, I have a few moments to myself while I power through this ruby red grapefruit at my desk.  I need something to take my mind of the sour bitterness that is this fruit. Last week Shibbs chose Cat’s Eye, a collection of three Stephen King short stories that are presented in movie form with the only thing tying them together is a random stray cat who is eventually named General.

#62 – Range 15

Movie grunts,  So last week we had an elite squad consisting of Charlie, Chris J., Billy D., a brief showing of Mark as “Guest” accompanied by a fluffy white bunny avatar and of course yours truly.  This dedicated few braved the viewing of a movie selection that came way out of left-field from Charlie.  He upped the ante on his usual choice of either tomato themed horror movies or comedically twisted zombie flicks, to bless us with a zombie apocalypse themed action horror comedy.

#61 – Flash Gordon

Oh my friends where to begin.  This movie is packed with more sci-fi cheesiness than one can bargain for and it is an entertaining ride of campy psychedelic visuals and rock music that mere words can’t really describe.  My only gripe is kind of the same for most of the sci-fi adventures we endure, there’s always a slowdown somewhere in the middle of the film where random dialog takes over and kills the flow of the movie.  I will admit I have no clue what was happening for most of the plot because I zoned out during this lull but thankfully things pick up just in time for one of the more satisfying final battle scenes I’ve ever experienced.

#60 – Invasion U.S.A.

Movie Guerillas,  Last wee we watched another Cannon Films Classic “Invasion USA” starring Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris. By our judgment it was decidedly mediocre. The action sequences were actually pretty good, unless you count the planning of the final attack which seems to take place on one street for budget reasons.
